Job Description

Kitchen Assistants are required to perform various food and beverage related tasks including:

  • Cook or prepare food items according to procedures or recipes as trained.
  • Place food items on serving plates or dishes along with required condiments and utensils to present to customers.
  • Prepare items quickly and accurately ensuring no waste and in accordance with production and portion requirements and quality standards, as trained.
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment.
  • Maintain and clean all Food Service areas according to all County, State, and Federal Health Codes and Sanitation procedures as trained.
  • Maintain and clean all preparation tables, equipment, floors, supply areas, refrigerators, and coolers as trained
  • Assist in washing all dirty dishes and equipment.
  • Maintain all necessary food reporting and labeling to ensure product quality.
  • Keep supervisor/manager informed of all supply, food, and product inventory when necessary.
  • Keep supervisor/manager informed of situations relating to facility operation, patron complaints or concerns, accidents, emergency situations, damages, and potential safety hazards.

At the beginning of the day, Kitchen Assistants are responsible for getting food preparation areas stocked and set-up.

At the end of the day they are responsible for cleaning up food preparation areas and properly storing unused food items.

Employees may be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Participants must be able to:

  • Work individually or on a team and at a quick pace.
  • Have the ability to read, write, and understand instructions given in English.
  • Have a friendly, positive attitude.
  • Wear the required uniform.

Housing Description

Participants will be placed in one the following housing options:

Motel: 425 Vine Street, Wisconsin Dells, WI

  • Shared 1 bedroom units with up to 3 participants per room (14 rooms total)
  • Each room has 1 bathroom and is fully furnished
  • Each participant will have their own bed
  • Participants will have access to a shared, full community kitchen on the property and shared sitting room.
  • Laundry facilities are within walking distance of housing costing approximately $2 per load.

Shared Duplex: 912 Fitzgerald Rd, Wisconsin Dells, WI (located within walking distance from restaurant)

  • Fully furnished, 2-4 participants per room.
  • Unit 1: 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom = 6 participants total
  • Unit 2: 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom = 9-12 participants total
  • Unit 3: Studio apartment, 1 bathroom = 3 participants total
  • Free laundry available onsite.
  • Free WiFi available at all units
  • Rooms are divided by gender; but overall housing is co-ed.
  • Linens are available for purchase at a cost of $10

$85 per week

Housing Deposit Required

Participants are to pay rent to their manager, in cash, weekly. Details are to be outlined at orientation. A cash Housing Deposit of $350 is due upon arrival. $300 of deposit will be refunded if housing is left in the condition it was given. $50 will be non-refundable as an administrative fee. An inspection is to be scheduled before departure. PLEASE NOTE: Housing leases are secured for a period of time that matches each participant’s program dates; participants are expected to stay in the housing for the duration of their program dates. Deposit may be forfeited if participants leave without the notice listed in the Housing Contract (DS-2019 End Date). Participants are required to vacate the housing within 72 hours of employment termination or ending employment early (quitting).

The Wisconsin Dells area is made up of two communities, the City of Wisconsin Dells and the Village of Lake Delton. Wisconsin Dells has 2,444 year- round residents, while Lake Delton is home to 2,775.

The area is full of natural beauty, with ancient rock formations found only from Germany, Switzerland, and Wisconsin Dells.
