Job Description

Lifeguards must constantly monitor guests in pools and ensure that guests follow the facility rules. Lifeguards will be next to or in chlorinated water and will be in direct sunlight for long periods of time. Participants will be standing, sitting, and walking for long periods of time. As a lifeguard, participants must ensure a safe and healthy environment for the swimmers and they must be able to recognize and react properly in emergency situations. Additional duties may include checking and maintaining specific chemical levels in the pool and operating the pool filtration system as well as cleaning the pool and surrounding area-deck, guard office, pump room, removing trash and enforcing facility rules and gate control. Participants may be cleaning toilets and be using cleaning chemicals.

Candidates must be able to pass a pre-course skill test that requires them to:

  • Swim 300 meters continuously, using only the front crawl and breast stroke technique.
  • Retrieve a brick from a depth of 2 -3 meters.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only their legs.

Lifeguard Training Cost: $200 USD

All Premier Aquatics employees are required to obtain a Pool Operator’s License in addition to Lifeguard Training and CPR Certifications. The cost for this exam is included in Lifeguard Training fees. Some jurisdictions require a separate exam to obtain the Pool Operator License. Participants should be prepared to take exam upon arrival in the U.S.

Lifeguard training will take 3 days to complete. Transportation to and from the training facility will be provided at no charge. Lifeguard training is unpaid.

If participants do not pass their lifeguard training, they are not permitted to work as a lifeguard at Premier Aquatics

In addition to the hourly wage of $13.00, participants who work through and on 9/4/2023 will receive a $500 Completion Bonus in addition to the $750 Arrival Bonus.

Job Benefits

  • $750.00 Arrival Bonus to be paid in first paycheck.
  • $500.00 Completion Bonus for all participants who work through and on 09/04/2025.
  • Free uniform for participants who work through and on 09/04/2025.
  • A very small number of participants may have the opportunity to work in Washington, D.C. or Montgomery County, MD, where they will receive a higher minimum wage, but this should NOT be expected. The wage in Montgomery County, MD is $15.65 per hour. The wage in Washington, D.C. is $16.50 per hour, and will update to $17.00 on July 1,2023. The majority of participants will not work in these areas and will receive $13 per hour the entire season.

HOUSING COSTS AND PAYMENT INFORMATION:

  • Arrival Date: 5/8/2025 – 7/1/2025: $1,800
  • Housing fees will be paid through 5 payroll deductions of $400
  • $200 NON-REFUNDABLE Security Deposit

Apartments are furnished with a living area, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms vary by unit.

  • Participants will have their own beds.
  • There will be no more than 6 participants sharing a bathroom.
  • Utilities are included in the rent.
  • Travel time to and from work each day will be up to 40 minutes. Transportation to and from work is by walking or participants can purchase a bike for approximately $100.
  • Bed linens are NOT provided, and must be supplied by participants.
  • Microwaves and washing machines are NOT guaranteed.
  • Stoves and ovens are available in each unit.
  • Participants may live in temporary housing during training.

Each participant is required to pay a $200 NON-REFUNDABLE Security Deposit. This will be paid through payroll deduction. Exact dates of the housing cost deductions from participant paychecks will depend on participants start and end dates.
