Job Description
At Great Wolf, the Ambassador of Fun creates an exciting atmosphere for kids with handson, unforgettable experiences.
- This role leads Great Wolf Lodge kids’ activities and is also responsible for general retail work, including stocking merchandise and ringing sales.
- Perform all branded experiences consistently according to Family Tradition procedures.
- Responsible for all aspects of Character Appearances and Entertainment at the property including:
1) Perform character appearance duties in a manner deemed acceptable according Great Wolf Lodge standards; learn and perform signature character moves and non verbal communication strategies. Characters do not speak under any circumstances.
2) Perform Wolf Walk, Story Time, and other brand events/experiences outside of the Cub Club room (hands on learning, dance parties, karaoke).
3) Personally interact with Great Wolf Lodge guests.
4) When not on break, act as though you are on stage at all times, effectively entertaining Pack Members, families and children through public performance.
5) Escorts are the ‘voice’ of the character, so must have the ability and will be expected to converse casually and appropriately with guests.
6) Perform and/or provide support to all necessary community appearances. This includes but is not limited to sponsors, charities, tradeshows, media and private functions.
7) Responsible for character costume operations including care, cleaning, maintenance, etc.
8) Commit entirely to the assigned scheduled opportunities for specific characters (“Wiley”, “Violet”, or other scheduled character) to appear at on-site and off-site events.
9) Distribute Great Wolf Lodge promotional items designed to help increase guest experience and guest attendance at events.
10) Willingness to perform child-friendly promotional activities on-site and in the community.
12) Willingness to represent Great Wolf Lodge, and our mission and core values, in a positive manner on and off site.
13) All character and escort duties are interchangeable — it is expected that each Pack Member is willing and able to fulfil both roles as needed.
Required skills :
- Must sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to maintain composure in character suits; including heat and humidity for periods of 30 minutes
- Position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs and up to 100 lbs.
- Proven customer service skills and communication skills; able to read and interpret English language manuals relating to safety, operations, and procedures.
- Proven teamwork skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimal direction.
Required experience :
- Previous experience in a related fields such as Entertainment, Hospitality, or Education.
- Previous as a Character and/or working with children.

Waterpark Attendant
- Interact with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Provide exceptional guest service in order to enhance the guest experience in the water park.
- Provide general assistance to guests, including answering questions about the resort, pools, rides and attractions.
- Monitoring the well-being of guests and responding to emergency situations both in and out of water. Includes providing emergency first aid as necessary.
- Enforcing established rules, complying with regulations, and maintaining professional lifeguarding practices.
- Maintaining a constant alertness to what our hundreds of guests are doing, preventing accidents and assisting swimmers in distress. Should an emergency occur, Waterpark Attendants are responsible for taking quick and decisive action and providing emergency care.
- Throughout their shift, Waterpark Attendants are also expected to play an important role in keeping the resort clean and comfortable.
- All of these important responsibilities must be fulfilled while working either inside in a humid environment or outside in the elements – heat, humidity, rain, and wind. Long periods of standing are required.
- Advises waterpark management of unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
- Possesses a general knowledge of the waterpark pools and attractions.
- Must read and sign skill acknowledgement and terms of agreement.
Required skills
- Current license in Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program including CPR, First Aid, and AED. Will receive this training upon arrival.
- Swim 50 yards in 4 ft. of water and retrieve a 10 lb brick at bottom of pool.
- Must sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- You will be working in a humid, warm environment and be immersed in water for extended periods of time.
- Position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs and up to 100 lbs.
- Climb multiple flights of stairs.
Work schedule: Varies, can be scheduled between 6am – 11pm
Restaurant Worker
- Dishwasher, busser, food runner (running items to/from buffet line) and possible light food prep work (prepping basic ingredients for cooks to use).
- Depending on English level, may be asked to work Front of House and run a register.
Required skills
In addition to a good command of English, this position is physically demanding and requires:
– Ability to receive direction and perform responsibilities in a fast paced environment
– Standing and constant moving for long periods of time (up to 8 hours per shift)
– Frequent bending and stooping
– Lifting up to 25lbs/11 kg
– Will be working with cleaning chemicals
Special requirements
Participant is required to live at housing facility reserved by Great Wolf Lodge.
– Must be able to work in a stationary position for long periods of times (up to 8 hours).
– Must have full use of five senses: free use of hands to handle items; must be able to speak and hear well; must be able to taste and smell food items.
– Must be agile and have ability to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in order to reach various items and move through sometimes tight spaces.
– Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
– Must be able to lift and balance trays frequently.

Room Attendant
- Cleans guest suites in an allotted period determined by management using the proper procedures and chemicals provided by management.
Required skills
Familiar with housekeeping including sanitation, laundry, operations, and guest service.
– Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs, bending, and stretching. Will be working with cleaning chemicals.
Special requirements
Participant is required to live at housing facility arranged by Great Wolf Lodge.* Will be working with cleaning chemicals.
Will be required to stand throughout the shift.
*If you are fired from this placement you will need to vacate the housing as well.

The Restaurant Server
is responsible for taking food and beverage orders, serving food and beverages, and handling transactions while interacting in a positive, friendly and efficient manner with our guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Helps patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails and appetizers; suggesting courses; explaining the chef’s specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions and understanding customer’s special needs and/or dietary restrictions.
- Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices; identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests.
- Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
- Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen including accompaniments and condiments from service bars, as requested.
- Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process.
- Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
- Obtains revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host person; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
- Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
Required skills
– Some High School education or equivalent.
– Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) as they apply to cash handling.
– Must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands including nights, weekends and Holidays as needed.

Participants can move into housing two days prior to their program start date and move out two days after their program end date. For example, if a program is June 15 to September 15, longest lease terms can be June 13 to September 17. In the rare case that a participant’s program dates are outside of the job offer dates, move in and move out dates may need to be adjusted, and this must be handled directly with the participant’s local Outreach Coordinator.
IMPORTANT: All participants have to sign their Lease Agreement with International Residence Hall prior to arrival.
