Job Description
Food & Beverage (Indoor Theme Park Concessions – Concessions): Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
- Providing exceptional guest service. – Greet and interact with Guest in a positive, friendly and professional manner.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and answer any questions or comments from customers
- Preparing food in an appetizing manner.
- Accept payment from customers, and make change as necessary.
- Abiding by all health code and food preparation guidelines.
- Maintain a clean workstation.
- Completes opening and closing checklists.
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products.
- Cleaning in accordance to company standards including but not limited to: sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning tables, counters, kitchen and service equipment, removing trash, and cleaning restrooms.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Work schedule: Varies, may include weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays. 4-7 days per week, 6 – 8 hour shifts that fall between 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Special requirements:
- Must have ability to work with US currency.
- Must be able to work in a stationary position for long periods of times (up to 8 hours).
- Must be able to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Must be able to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to lift and balance trays frequently.Participant is required to live at the housing facilities provided in this offer. If participant is terminated or leaves placement, he/she must vacate housing within three days.

The Room Attendant
responsible for keeping guest rooms in a hotel, motel, lodge or inn clean, safe, stocked and maintained. They are expected to be friendly and engaging when interacting with guests to project a positive image of the company.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
- Safe handling of cleaning products and chemicals and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
- Clean a specified number of rooms within a designated amount of time.
- Clean restrooms, furniture, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
- Change bed linens and make the beds.
- Replenish towels, linens, toilet tissue, toiletries and complimentary supplies.
- Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
- Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked and clean.
- Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers, hang draperies and dust window blinds.
- Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork as necessary to meet company standards.
- Carry heavy items and use a wheeled cart to transport supplies.
Please note that Kalahari guest rooms accommodate families (2 – 22 guests staying in each room or condo for multiple days) and therefore the amount of cleaning needed may vary from room to room. Please reference housekeeping handbook for additional responsibilities.

Food & Beverage
Participant will be responsible for a variety of duties including:
Host/Hostess: responsible to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them at a table. As the first contact between the customers and the restaurant, the host/hostess is a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the staff of the restaurant. While guests are waiting to be seated or waiting for take-out orders to be ready, it is the job of the hostess to ensure that the guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their orders or wait times.
Servers: responsible to ensure that customers have an enjoyable dining experience. As the
primary contact between the customers and the restaurant, they are expected to be friendly and engaging when interacting with guests to project a positive image of the company while providing top quality service.
Bussers/Food Runners: responsible to assist Servers to deliver food from the kitchen to the
customer tables as quickly as possible. they are also responsible to ensure customer satisfaction by providing supportive service to meet the customer’s needs.

Ride Attendant
Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional entertainment experience for all of our guests. Each ride sales associate’s primary objective is to show our guests a safe, fun time, and deliver the ultimate in customer service.
- Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
- Inform guests of ride information such as height restrictions and length of ride time.
- Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy and offer options for any rides that are not operating during that time.
- Approach guests, greet them, and deliver sales pitches.
- Maintain Safety First Standards.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain clean service areas on a continuous basis.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow associates as situations arise.
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
- Handle cash and complete transactions using micros cash register.
- Be able to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Indoor Theme Park as directed by the General Manager or immediate supervisor.

Retail Sales Associates
responsible to provide fast, friendly, and accurate check out services for customers using computerized cash register systems. As the primary contact between the customers and the company, they are expected to deliver top quality customer service and be friendly and engaging when interacting with guests to project a positive
image of the company.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
- Greet and interact with Guest in a positive, friendly and professional manner.
- Answer customers’ questions, and provide information on products, policies and procedures.
- Bag or wrap merchandise after purchase.
- Offer customers carry-out service at the completion of transactions.
- Compute and record totals of transactions.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Establish or identify prices of goods, services or admission, and sum bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
- Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available and that they are staffed appropriately.
- Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
- Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
- Request information or assistance using paging systems.
- Resolve customer complaints.
- Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins.
- Weigh items sold by weight in order to determine prices.
- Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales.
- Stock shelves, and mark prices on shelves and items.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Lifeguard – Shallow:
Shallow water lifeguards will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the safety of guests in and around the shallower water (any water area, 5 ft or under) areas of the waterpark. In addition, student will be required to:
- Attend University of Kalahari Lifeguard Training to learn Customer Care skills
- Interact with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner;
- Provide exceptional guest service in order to enhance the guest experience in the water park.
- Provide general assistance to guests, including answering questions about the resort
- Work with fellow team members to provide guests with a fun and safe experience.
- Monitoring the well-being of guests and responding to emergency situations both in and out of a waterpark area.
- Enforcing established rules, complying with regulations, and maintaining professional practices.
- Maintaining a constant alertness to what our hundreds of Guests are doing, preventing accidents and drowning in waterpark areas.
- Throughout their shift, Lifeguards are also expected to play an important role in keeping the resort clean and comfortable.
- All of these important responsibilities must be fulfilled while working outside in the elements – heat, humidity, rain, and wind. Long periods of standing are required.
Lifeguard – Deep:
Deep water lifeguards will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the safety of guests in and around the deep water (any water area, 5 ft or deeper) areas of the waterpark. In addition, student will be required to:
- Attend University of Kalahari Lifeguard Training to learn Customer Care skills
- Interact with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner;
- Provide exceptional guest service in order to enhance the guest experience in the water park.
- Provide general assistance to guests, including answering questions about the resort
- Work with fellow team members to provide guests with a fun and safe experience.

Required skills: Must be able to swim and pass lifeguard certification class (see attached class information). Will be required to stand in and out of water for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). Exposure to pool chemicals and sun is possible up to entire length of shift. Sunscreen is highly recommended when working outdoors.

Housing fees – additional comments:
MUST HAVE $500 cash at check in to move in: $250 Deposit and $50 Admin Fee ($250 refundable upon successful completion of program; $50 non-refundable admin fee) as well as your first 2 weeks’ prorated rent. Participants need to:
1) Make housing arrangement as soon as VISA is granted;
2) Keep the Housing Manager up-to-date regarding any arrival date and any changes;
3) Coordinate an actual check-in time, so the Housing Manager can be on property upon late arrival;
4) Bring $500 to the check in, to move-in
Each participant will receive the “Dorm in a Box” package upon check in that has all the necessities needed for the first week in the housing: toilet paper, Kleenex, plastic utensils, coffee mug, lock, hygiene products, trash bags, laundry token, detergent etc. The package cost is $22 and it is payroll deducted.
Participant must provide arrival date and time to housing manager in advance to secure housing. Failure to provide this information could result in the loss of placement.*
Please note that weekly housing costs will start to be deducted on the first full paycheck instead of the very first check which normally only includes a partial pay period.
