Job Description
Lifeguard – Shallow
Shallow water lifeguards will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the safety of guests in and around the shallower water (any water area, 5 ft or under) areas of the waterpark. In addition, student will be required to:
- Attend University of Kalahari Lifeguard Training to learn Customer Care skills
- Interact with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner;
- Provide exceptional guest service in order to enhance the guest experience in the water park.
- Provide general assistance to guests, including answering questions about the resort
- Work with fellow team members to provide guests with a fun and safe experience.
- Monitoring the well-being of guests and responding to emergency situations both in and out of a waterpark area.
- Enforcing established rules, complying with regulations, and maintaining professional
practices. - Maintaining a constant alertness to what our hundreds of Guests are doing, preventing accidents and drowning in waterpark areas.
- Throughout their shift, Lifeguards are also expected to play an important role in keeping the resort clean and comfortable.
- All of these important responsibilities must be fulfilled while working outside in the
elements – heat, humidity, rain, and wind. Long periods of standing are required.
– Shallow Water Lifeguards: $13/hour –
Lifeguard – Deep

**Position will be determined during training based on performance and company need**
Required skills :
Must be able to swim and pass lifeguard certification class (see attached class
information). Will be required to stand in and out of water for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). Exposure to pool chemicals and sun is possible up to entire length of shift. Sunscreen is highly recommended when working outdoors.
Work schedule :
Varies, may include weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays. 4-7 days per week, 6 – 8
hour shifts that fall between 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.

1.) Waterpark / Slide Attendant
This position requires exceptional communication skills. In this role, students will be positioned at the top of several different waterpark slides/rides and will be responsible for greeting guests, providing exceptional service at the ride, ensuring the safety of the guests on the ride, and for communicating effectively with the lifeguards located at the bottom of the rides. Students must be aware of all safety rules and precautions of all waterpark rides and must make sure all guests who choose to use the waterpark slides are of the designated height for the ride, are wearing the correct footwear for the ride, are aware of the depth of the water below, etc. They are responsible for ensuring the safety of guests/associates in all slides, attractions, and interactive features in the indoor and outdoor waterpark areas. In addition, student will be required to:
– Attend University of Kalahari Lifeguard Training to learn Customer Care skills
– Interact with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner;
– Provide exceptional guest service in order to enhance the guest experience in the water park.

Participant is required to live at the housing facilities provided in this offer. The job is tied to the housing, so loss of employment means participant must vacate housing. Likewise, if participant is evicted from housing, participant is no longer able to work at Kalahari.

Food & Beverage (Indoor Theme Park Concessions – Concessions)
Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
– Providing exceptional guest service.
– Greet and interact with Guest in a positive, friendly and professional manner
– Ensure customer satisfaction and answer any questions or comments from customers
– Preparing food in an appetizing manner.
– Accept payment from customers, and make change as necessary
– Abiding by all health code and food preparation guidelines.
– Maintain a clean workstation.
– Completes opening and closing checklists.
– Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products
– Cleaning in accordance to company standards including but not limited to: sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning tables, counters, kitchen and service equipment, removing trash, and cleaning restrooms.
– Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Must have ability to work with US currency.
- Must be able to work in a stationary position for long periods of times (up to 8 hours).
- Must be able to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Must be able to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Participant is required to live at the housing facilities provided in this offer. If participant is terminated or leaves placement, he/she must vacate housing within three days.
IMPORTANT: Participant must take and pass the WI alcohol Serve Safe course as part of their training. The fee for both the course and the license must be paid by the participant. Once completed and passed, the certificate of completion and a copy of the license should be submitted to the department for reimbursement. If the participant is unable to pass the course, they will not be able to work in any Wisconsin Dells Kalahari food & beverage outlets.

The Room Attendant
is responsible for keeping guest rooms in a hotel, motel, lodge or inn
clean, safe, stocked and maintained. They are expected to be friendly and engaging when interacting with guests to project a positive image of the company.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
– Safe handling of cleaning products and chemicals and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
– Clean a specified number of rooms within a designated amount of time.
– Clean restrooms, furniture, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
– Change bed linens and make the beds.
– Replenish towels, linens, toilet tissue, toiletries and complimentary supplies.
– Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
– Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked and clean.
– Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
– Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
– Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers, hang draperies and dust window blinds.
– Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork as necessary to meet company standards.
– Carry heavy items and use a wheeled cart to transport supplies.
Please note that Kalahari guest rooms accommodate families (2 – 22 guests staying in each room or condo for multiple days) and therefore the amount of cleaning needed may vary from room to room. Please reference housekeeping handbook for additional responsibilities.

Housing – additional comments : Participant must provide arrival date and time to housing manager in advance to secure housing. Failure to provide this information could result in the loss of placement.
Each participant will receive the “Dorm in a Box” package upon check in that has all the necessities needed for the first week in the housing: toilet paper, Kleenex, plastic utensils, coffee mug, lock, hygiene products, trash bags, laundry token, detergent etc. The package cost is $22 and it is payroll deducted.
Please note that weekly housing costs will start to be deducted on the first full paycheck instead of the very first check which normally only includes a partial pay period.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Housing cost begin first first day of check-in. Typically payroll deductions will begin on first full paycheck, but the first deductions will be significantlyhigher to cover the cost of housing from first check-in ( On First full pay period). **
Due upon arrival is the maximum amount of $520 ($250 deposit, $50 administration fee, plus 2 weeks of pro-rated rent). This is due as a cash payment upon arrival.
