The Stanley Hotel Tour Guide

Core Responsibilities:
Education & Storytelling : Narrate the history, culture, and significance of sites using
engaging storytelling.

Group Management: Greet visitors, explain itineraries, and ensure the group stays together
and on schedule.

Safety & Security: Brief guests on safety protocols, monitor for hazards, and provide first
aid or lead emergency evacuations if necessary.

Guest Interaction: Answer a wide range of questions, provide directions, and offer
recommendations for local dining or additional sightseeing.

Logistics & Coordination: Organize travel routes, purchase tickets for attractions, and
coordinate with transportation or meal providers.

Administrative & Preparatory Tasks:
Continuous Learning: Research and memorize detailed facts, scripts, and updates about
the region or establishment.

Equipment Maintenance: Assemble and check required gear (e.g., audio headsets, safety
devices) and ensure everything is returned and maintained.

Clerical Duties: Record attendance, track expenses, and report any incidents or maintenance issues to supervisors

Required skill

• Strong storytelling, presentation, and public speaking skills.
• Passion for history, hospitality, and guest engagement.
• Ability to adapt tours for different audiences and ages.
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups of up to 40 guests.
• Active, guest-facing role with walking and speaking in all weather conditions.
• Must maintain energy and enthusiasm across multiple tours per shift.

Required experience

• Prior experience in public speaking, hospitality, or guest services strongly preferred.
• Experience or knowledge of history, theater, or tourism a plus.

Average hours over 2 weeks period : 32 hours per week
