Job Description

Participants working as housekeeping will perform many duties. Duties are assigned each day and will be rotated depending on skills and business demands. Some duties will require participants to use cleaning chemicals.

Job duties:

  • Housekeeping: Participants will clean full cottages and 1 and 2 bedroom cabins, Tipis, Wagons, and Rental Halls. Duties include cleaning bathrooms (including toilets), refreshing linens, making beds, cleaning windows, and restocking amenities. Participants must be able to clean one unit in 45 minutes. Participants will also clean common area bathrooms and guest lockers. Participants should have a strong knowledge of the campground and be able to answer any guest questions. Participants will spend a majority of their time completing housekeeping duties with the “Clean Team”. Please take note, everyone will receive a schedule to work, but that schedule is subject to change based on reservations, and busy peak times.
  • Grounds: Participants will sweep common areas, rake leaves, pick up trash, replace trash receptacle liners, clear fire pits and grills, and refresh common areas. These duties form less than 20% of the overall position.

Participants will receive fewer or no hours BEFORE May 25, and AFTER August 18, but will be able to receive at least 20 hrs on the weekend of August 24-25, and at least 30 hrs the weekend of August 31-September 2. Participants are able to stay and work at the campground until September 2nd.

Participants should note that the weather is very hot in Texas in the summer time! Participants should be prepared to work outside in hot weather but will be able to take breaks.

Housing Description

Participants will live onsite in RV campers, which are divided by gender. Each RV camper will have one set of bunk beds or two single beds and one bathroom. Only three participants will share each RV camper. RV campers also each have a common area and a small kitchenette with a stove and a microwave. Coin-operated laundry is available in three different areas at the campground. Linens, basic cookware, and WiFi are provided. Participants should provide their own towels.

Participants of opposite gender are not allowed in the other housing overnight and violation of this rule will result in eviction. Smoking is PROHIBITED in the housing and violation of this rule will also result in eviction. Participants are required to vacate the housing within 48 hours of termination or quitting.

$50 per week

Housing Deposit Required

A $250 deposit is required upon arrival in the form of cash or money order. If a student is unable to pay upon arrival, we can work with them by taking it out over several paychecks. Participants will receive the deposit back if the housing is left in good condition and participants work until the end date on their placement agreement. Unpaid rent, cost for damages, or items missing from the housing unit will be deducted from the security deposit. Students who quit early will not receive their $250 refund.

Burleson is a city in northern Texas and about a 30 minute drive south of Fort Worth, which is a major city. Known as the “City of Cowboys and Culture”, there are many fun things to do in Fort Worth including museums and galleries, shopping and historic sites, concerts, and a vibrant nightlife. Burleson is home to approximately 300 acres of parks, as well as branch campuses of both Hill College and Texas Wesleyan University. Burleson offers easy access to the bustling metropolis of Fort Worth. Plenty of recreational activities are available within Burleson including wineries, theaters, and festivals. The population of Burleson is approximately 45,000 people.
