Job Description

Participants must be prepared to work in all role types. Participants hired on in this position will be working primarily as housekeepers. Wages vary between concentration of duties. Some cash handling in some roles. Participants will use cleaning chemicals in these position.

Roles include:

  • Housekeeping: $10.00 – $15.00 per hour depending on duty assignment. Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning, dusting, vacuuming and tidying guest rooms and property common areas. Job duties include preparing fresh linens, doing laundry (less than 15% of hours), making beds, dusting furniture and fixtures, washing floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, emptying trash cans, cleaning windows, cleaning the bathroom and toilet and keeping the guest rooms stocked with accessories and bathrooms stocked with supplies.   • Culinary: $12.00 per hour. Prep cook/dishwashers are responsible for assisting with food prep. Dishwasher works the automated dishwasher and cleans dishware/cookware.
  • Restaurants/Banquets: $2.33 per hour + tips or gratuity – $8.75. Restaurant bussing, hosting, expediting, serving, bartending, barista. Banquet set up, barback, serving, bartending. Interact with guests. Ensure restaurant and event location are set up properly, kept clean and running smoothly while taking care of guests food and beverage orders during restaurant operation / event.
  • Recreation: $8.25 per hour. Recreation attendants, are responsible for assisting guests in the recreation area, cleaning areas and stocking pool towels.
  • Gift Shop: Cashier $10.00 per hour. Assist guests with purchases in the Gift Shop.
  • Front Desk/Reservations: $10.00 per hour. (base may be higher with experience). Assist guests on phone with reservations and/or checking in/out of resort.

Housing Description

Housing will be cabins/dorms at nearby retreat center. Each cabin has two separate bedrooms, each with separate bathroom access, and one common area per cabin. Refrigerators and microwaves are in each cabin. Each bedroom sleeps four people comfortably. Each cabin has a small porch with chairs. Dorms sleep up to 4 comfortable and have their own bathroom.

There is a large greenspace area with a fire pit and a covered pavilion with picnic tables. The grounds also have a nature trail for walking or running, an outdoor basketball court, volleyball, and greenspace for soccer and softball.

The Main Lodge has a large game room area with ping pong tables and other games. There is also a full kitchen with appliances, cookware, flatware, glasses, etc. Additional gathering areas and public bathrooms available in lodge with outside deck overlooking the woods.

Transportation to and from work will be provided, as well as planned shopping and laundry visits.

Housing Rate

$80 per week

Housing Deposit Required

$400.00 total cash deposit required. $400 includes $350 deposit and $50 non-refundable cleaning fee. Participants will be expected to sign an agreement acknowledging responsibility for keeping accommodations clean and for reimbursing costs related to damages. Participants and the employer will complete a check-in form and a check out form regarding condition of housing and any deficiencies found at either time or during employer walkthroughs. Deficiencies, damages, replacements occurring due to participant usage and/or fault will result in forfeiture of deposit relative to cost of damage, replacement and/or service fees. Early program departure of any kind risks forfeiture of full deposit. If a participant quits or is fired, they must vacate employer provided housing within 5-7 days. Check out walk-through is arranged Tuesday-Friday 9AM-3PM. If walk through is not pre-arranged through Human Resources, there is also risk of deposit forfeiture.

Community Description

Fontana, Wisconsin is a small town located on Geneva Lake. On the opposite side of Geneva Lake (approximately a 15 minute drive) is the resort town of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The Lake Geneva area has many attractions such as beaches, specialty shops and galleries, golfing, boating, hiking the Potawatomi Trail, lake cruises, great food, and lodging services.

Remark

The employer is open to all start and end dates during the dates listed. Business gets busy throughout the summer beginning from Memorial Day weekend through mid-September.
